A Gallery Walk among Stoughton’s 17+ studios and galleries, a MusicFest along Main Street featuring live bands all day long, the 1924 silent movie "Phantom of the Opera" onstage at the historic Stoughton Opera House, art classes and demos throughout the day, plus Street Art Events pleased young and old.
Silent Movie at the Opera House – Phantom Of The Opera In 2009, Historic Stoughton’s renovated 107 year old Opera House featured the original, completely restored 1924 version of Phantom Of The Opera starring Lon Chaney. The show began with a 1932 newsreel of Lindbergh Crossing The Atlantic and cartoon shown on a 1925 16mm movie projector. Gallery Walk Dozens of artists were featured at the “Gallery Walk”, hosted by 17 galleries and studios, all within walking distance of one another in Stoughton’s historic downtown business district. Art lovers strolled from reception to reception, up and down Main Street, and stopped for music, refreshments, and great art that spans every art medium.
